Pixies are set to start work on their first album in 15 years in January next year, it has been reported.
Frank Black had earlier announced that the band had given up on the new album after struggling to write material, but it seems the band have now changed their minds, and will begin rehearsing and writing again in January.
It is unclear as to whether the new material will form a full length album, as the band are also scheduled to release a Best Of compilation album in early 2007, but what’s certain is that the band will continue to tour, and will at the very least attempt to write new material. As Black admits the aim is to become what he describes as a ‘vital band’ again.
