I don't understand how such a pile of old TOSH can be even nominated for Best Album. NME started this by declaring it the Best Album EVER - even before it was released. I believed the hype and bought the bloody thing. I wanted to like it but it is OVER-rated crap. [And - yes - I have listened to it enough to make an informed opinion.]
I don't think it's been a particularly good year for albums, INMO, but Muse or Kasabian would have been more worthy winners. The best album I've heard this year is by the Guillemots, who would have won the Mercury Music Prize but for the hype surrounding the Monkeys.

I just wanted to add that I think the next Arctic Monkeys' album will be the biggest pile of SHITE you will ever hear. [Just thought I'd get my opinion in before NME.] I think we already know what it's going to sound like.

you said it! arctic monkeys...nasty, laddish, irrelevant Sheffield DRIVEL. if this is the best we can do withthe state of the planet in 2007. then theres no hope for any of us!!
