i do belive that the Q awards are more reflective of popular opinion in this generer of music! The awards generally go to the bands that are "the best on the british isle" and with oasis finally reciving recognition for one of the best albums of last year and the arctic monkeys getting some much needed publicity then the music world is really in safe hands at the Q awards

Oasis, the best band in the world today? too fucking right. U2 are better, but only because they've been around longer and they can still do it. But this award is for the best right now, not over the past 30 years. For the last 13 years Oasis have been better than U2, so they get the award.

Oasis are by far the best act in the world today! Noel is king! Bono is an old fart!

About time Oasis got the best act in the world award again. For too long now we have had too many so called bands winning this award.

I think for a band to win an award that is handed out annually, they should actually have released some new product during that year. I like Oasis. I've seen them live and bought all of the albums and singles. Maybe they were the "Best Band In The World Today" last year but this year someone else - Muse for e.g.? - should have won it.

I'm sorry to disagree with everyone of you, but how can such an obsolete band like Oasis receive an award like this when they haven't recorded a decent song for over a decade now? I think you must all be deluded (and pretty old) to think that they have any significance in the music scene nowadays. There are bands and artists far better and more deserving of recognition than these self absorbed egomaniac tossers.

Oasis is THE best band in the world even if they haven't recorded recently. Who cares? They are real rock an totally deserve this award. Sure liam and noel have an ego but that just because they are the biggest band in the world and they know it! THANK YOU for finally giving this award to someone who deserves it.

I think Muse Should have won Best Act in the world today. Whereas Oasis are a bunch of arrogant dickheads, U2 have won enough at this stage. I say "Move over and let a more deserving band win!"

Im sorry miriam if you think that Oasis havnt recorded a decent song in ten years?
Gas panic? Lyla? Fucking in the bushes? The importance of beig idle? i could go on. when will people see that you cant stay at Definetly Maybe and Whats the storys level forever. Other albums have been great also.
What bout the stones? Its been a while since they recorded anythin decent. Everybody knows Oasis are a great band. They will be around for a long time yet. Yeah they are cocky pricks, but too right , they have the right to be.

Oasis, The best??? Are U kiding??? Liam and Noel??? God! Best Act In The World Today is, of course, U2! They are complete!
Sary, enough is not enough when we talk about u2. i can't say the same about Oasis!
They think they're God. I believe 'cos they won this award... it's a really MIRACLE!

It's a shame that you get wanker Radiohead fans saying Oasis haven't done anything good in ten years. Just because it was impossible to maintain the form the had during the first two albums. Morning Glory and Def Maybe are far, far superior to anything Radiohead or Coldplay have done in terms of Anthemic value. Also, Be Here Now and Don't Believe The Truth are cracking albums, much better than anything else that got released in the last 3 or 4 years.
