It seems Noel Gallagher just can’t keep his mouth shut at the moment. Whether it’s got anything to do with the new Oasis compilation out this week (Stop The Clocks, in all good record shops NOW) or not is unclear, but what’s certain is that Noel’s outbursts are like cluster bombs, scattering bile in every direction possible.
Nothing is safe from Noel’s vented spleen, not Tony Blair, "Blair made an almighty cock-up about going to war", his brother, “Liam's only got two problems: everything he f***ing says and everything he f***ing does”, even the environmental movement, "These Greens are wasting their time, I'm glad - because in 50 years time I'll be dead.". It seems that Noel’s trencherman’s appetite for a tirade holds no bounds.
Noel has been rambling away his innermost thought to anyone who’ll listen, giving The Sun his thoughts on Iraq, “When people go on about that it's like they're suggesting that if anybody else had been in power they wouldn't have gone in with the Americans," he said. "Because after WW2 we always have sided with the Americans. Don't think for one moment David Cameron wouldn't have sent the troops in, or the other guy from the Liberals.” As well as his, quite remarkable, thoughts on the military, “You get a million people walking through Hyde Park, 'don't send the troops', and all that. The troops they wanna go, all they want to do is fight! They're soldiers! They're lunatics! They're loving it until they get shot - and then they're claiming compensation. If you're bothered about getting shot - here's a thing - don't join the Army!"
Noel didn’t stop there, telling The Big Issue, “Every time there's something wrong in Liam's life, in his madness, it all comes back to me. I get phone calls off him at five in the morning. 'Cos he knows you are in bed, right, and he only ever rings me when he's f***ed. And I can tell by the way it's ringing that it's going to be him and it's going to be some rant."
Do you think this is all about promoting the album, or is he simply turning into a grumpy old man? Perhaps he has a bet with Lily Allen about who can be more obnoxious? Let us know here.

It's all about flogging records.
The man knows the business and knows how to play the media to raise the bands profile.
He's been doing it for over a decade now.
Anyway any record that contains Acquiesce, Live Forever and Slide Away is a goodun. Most bands go their whole career without writing anything near that good.

At least he doesn't collect Nazi memorabilia... he's an incredible musician but he's not the most politically savy guy as was shown when he said that Parliament was made up of heroin adicts

Oasis are just an average pub band that got lucky. i would be surprised if Noel Gallagher and his symian brother are able to spell their own names so i hardly think that they are qualified to pass judgement on political or any other issues.

Oasis died creatively after their second album. Everything they released after that was just average. Just hope Kasabian don't go the same way after their stonking second album...

Noel is Brilliant. He has opinions, why shouldn't he give them, you do.

Nothing changes that fact that Oasis are the best band of the last two decades, and that Noel continues to write brilliant songs. And the rants are quite funny. The world would be a poorer place without him.

Firstly I do think an element of this is about selling records. The other element is that everyone and their dog are interviewing noel at the moment, so they are bound to hear him sound off at some point. Also to the person who mentioned Liam and Noel would struggle to spell their own names.... 'simain' is spelt with an 'i' not a 'y'. Live Forever.

In my experience, people who have a dig at Oasis usually fall into one of two categories. People who know absolutely nothing about music, or people who know quite a lot about music, but are just bitter because the obscure bands that they listen to haven't had an ounce of the success that Oasis have.
