Amy Winehouse has lashed out at rumours of an alcohol addiction circulating in the tabloid press, despite several recent incidents including a wobbly appearance on TV and punching out a fan because, she says, she is a “nasty drunk”.
Speaking to BBC 6Music earlier this week, the singer said her family and friends had no worries with her drinking. "If they were genuinely concerned, I don't like to worry people I love. The tabloids aren't worried about me so they can do what they want." This comes only a week after Winehouse told British Elle magazine that she would cut back on her drinking. "It's been that way for a year,” she said. “It is what it is. I'll stop at some point. When? I don't know."
The singer raised concern over her behaviour during a guest slot on The Charlotte Church Show in October, joining the host in a slurred version of Michael Jackson's Beat It. There was also an eccentric apperance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks in November - while the ensuing leery banter between herself and host Simon Amstell was entertaining, it didn’t add credence to her claims.
Two months ago, Winehouse punched a woman in the face after she criticised a London gig by the singer, before punching her boyfriend after he tried to calm her down. “I have a really good time some nights," she told The Times. "But then I push it over the edge and ruin my boyfriend’s night. I’m an ugly dickhead drunk, I really am."

I find Amy Winehouse to be a complete loser in many respects. She was charted as this great new talent of British music riding off the back of 1 ok hit!!! I have often had my reservations about her and her drinking habits and was has come to light recently has only compounded that.

I think people should give the girl a break, she is only doing the same as loads of other artists. I mean does anyone blink an eye at Keith Richards when he falls out of a palm tree or George Micheal when he is slumped over the wheel of his car? Lets face it, pretty much all of the greatest artists of the last fifty years or so have been addicted to something. People should stop judging performers on the "way they look" or "what they get up to" and let the music do the talking!

i think that she is a bad role model and should sort her self out like her hair and her drink problem and put on about 10 stone. Also get a proffesional makeup artist, its the least she could do.
