First official Glastonbury headliners confirmed!

Comments

The Who, Arctic Monkeys and Björk are the first acts to be officially confirmed for this year's Glastonbury festival.

Glastonbury organisers Michael and Emily Eavis exclusively told Q that Arctic Monkeys would be headlining the Pyramid Stage and Björk would be headlining the Other Stage, but have not revealed on which days. Legendary rockers The Who have also been confirmed for the festival, which takes place between 22 and 24 June this summer.

Internet speculation has had Arctic Monkeys down as a shoo-in following their huge success in 2006, while Björk will follow her headline appearance at Coachella festival in California. Last summer The Who - featuring original members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend - played a number of festivals, including London's Hyde Park Calling shows.

Surprised? Relieved? Bothered? Tell us.

  • There's an awesome documentary on the festival on the Community Channel that everyone should definitely check out! It's wicked. Its coming on February 13th at 10 pm, with a repeat the next day at 7 pm. Takes a pretty interesting twist to the 'Down and Dirty' festival.

  • All 3 of them are great bands/musicians.
However, all 3 of them are boring live acts.

  • *court* ...boring live acts? possibly you might of wanted to remove the bag over your head? All bands are full of energy live. I saw 'Monkeys last year in a tentof thousands jumping crazy totheir songs (and this was in a forign country!) - holland!
