Morrissey for Eurovision?

Comments

It's not exactly a secret that the UK has been bloody awful in the last few Eurovisions, but closet fan Morrissey has taken it more to heart than others.

The singer said he was "horrified" at rapper Daz Sampson's performance in Athens in May and it's apparently stayed in his mind: "There is one question that I keep on asking: 'Why didn't they ask me?' That question keeps going round my head."

The BBC, who screen the contest and apparently have some say in who sings, has confirmed that it is in talks with Morrissey to write and possibly perform a track, although a spokesman said that nothing has been confirmed.

Who would you like to see representing us at Eurovision? Oh go on, you do care really.

  • it's crystal clear that eurovision needs something else, and that might be just good music, so go morrissey, go!

  • maybe if he dressed like a horse and rowed a pumpkin around the stage. fish cakes could fall on him as he dances like a television. danny baker could be involved. well i like the idea.

  • I think he should do it because his Mum would like it. Much nicer than those nasty Smiths songs...

  • Unbelievable. Mozza in Eurovision. Personally, I think he's got no chance. You need 3 things for eurovision. A dance, a hopeless tune displaying no ability whatsoever and lots and lots of rendered, tanned, plucked and plastered flesh on display. So that means Girls Aloud.
