The Arcade Fire go back to school

Comments

The Arcade Fire are going back to their roots with a charity classroom gig at their guitarist's old school on January 19.

The band will play Canterbury High School in Ottawa, where percussionist and guitarist Richard Reed Parry went to school, and tickets are restricted to past and present students only, as well as members of the chosen charity, the Canterbury Arts Centre Development.

The unusual setting comes before five sold-out dates at St John's Church in London, after which the band are playing two shows each in Dublin, Manchester and Glasgow and four dates at London's Brixton Academy. All tickets sold out within 45 minutes.

Frontman Win Butler has acted out a teaser trailer for the band's new album, Neon Bible (out March 5), on YouTube, complete with mask and weirdness. Click here to watch.

Did you manage to get tickets, or would you pay the £200+ eBay is currently asking?

  • I happen to be one of the mildly lucky people who got the tickets at only double face value. I think its an absolute disgrace the way fans can't even buy tickets yet there's 7 pages of arcade fire tickets for ale on ebay.
