Morrissey will not be taking part in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, the BBC has said.
The ex-Smiths frontman expressed an interest last month and went into talks with the BBC, but now the corporation says he won't be singing.
A BBC spokesman said: "The BBC approached several artists and Morrissey was one of those that expressed an interest. Unfortunately, we were unable to go ahead with him being involved and we can now confirm that he definitely will not be taking part in this year's competition."
Rumours of Mozza's being unwilling to don a schoolboy cap and croon a lovesong penned by Jemini are as yet unconfirmed.
What could possibly have put Morrissey and the BBC off collaborating? List your conspiracy theories below please.
