Japanese fans are paying A-list prices for a night with Michael Jackson when it's not even sure he will sing.
A "platinum VIP" party, originally to take place in December, is being held on Thursday. Guests have paid $3,500 (£1,800) a ticket for what will amount to around a minute each with the singer, who hasn't confirmed that he will perform anything.
For those who couldn't afford a ticket, Jacko's attending a fan art party in Tokyo where winning artists will have brunch with the singer and get a picture taken with him.
Sounds like the richer guests should have just got their pencils out...
