Spandau Ballet to reform?

Comments

The latest band to hit the comeback trail could be Spandau Ballet, according to lead singer Tony Hadley. The band split in 1989 after ten years together and eight top ten singles, including a Number 1 with True. However, in 1999 Hadley, drummer John Keeble and saxophonist Steve Norman sued principal songwriter Gary Kemp for unpaid royalties and lost, causing much bad feeling among the former New Romantic superstars.

Speaking to Shane Richie on Virgin Radio, Hadley said, "There'll have to be an awful lot of things remedied because things did get personal and it went a bit too far. The next window of opportunity that I see would be our 30th anniversary, in about four years' time.”

Hadley forged a minor solo career, appearing on the TV reality show Reborn In The USA and on the West End stage in Chicago, while brothers Gary and Martin Kemp are best known for their acting debut in The Krays in 1989, with Martin later taking a leading part in EastEnders for four years.
