Justin Hawkins Goes Gay

Comments

The 1980's were "the gay-ties," at least according to former Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins. Having been beaten in the competition to represent the UK in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Hawkins has bounced back by posting a new track on his Myspace page. Called Gay In The '80s, it's a pomp rock ode to the perils of coming out twenty years ago. It's also utterly bananas, even more insane than entering Eurovision in the first place. Perhaps it's time for Hawkins to head back to the Priory for another rest.

  • I think you will find your knowledge of the song is incorrect, both its meaning and even the lyrics.
'pomp rock ode'... how many years of journo school did it take you to come up with that?
sorry, but i think report on something but get your facts correct first.

  • Your reading of the lyrical content is way off. You could try speaking to the lyricist - not justin actually, but that would spoil the story i suppose.

  • I agree, that song is quite brilliant and I reckon would do every bit as well Get Your Hands Off if it gets released.
I think the Q journo has done quite well here actually - I'd more or less given up on Justin and only went and listened to it due to the interesting heading. Very glad I did. Hope you get signed soon Justin - I bet you will now.
