Five random musical highlights from The Muppet Show. Let us know if there's any we've forgotten...

Elton John
The Carmen Miranda clobber, the singing crocodiles - this is the best thing Elton John ever did. And that includes Tiny Dancer.

Alice Cooper
Would Marilyn Manson ever do anything this funny? Don’t think so.

Johnny Cash
He didn’t work with Rick Rubin after all. Just Ms Piggy.

Debbie Harry
Backed by New Wave gonks and attacked by sharks. Genius.

Leo Sayer
Bubble haired munchkin Vs jazz-dancing psychedelic pterodactyl.

  • What about Kylie's 'Especially For You' rendition? Personally I was hoping that it would be Jason popping out from behind the curtain for a long-awaited, waist-clutching Aussie reunion, but alas, Kermit the Frog went in for the interception. Pshhh.

  • Marvellous.
My personal favourite was Vincent Price singing "You've Got a Friend".

  • The Muppets are excellent and they can teach the majority of todays pop artists about how to be truly anarchic, subversive and individual.

What about the music from Sesame Street? Billy Joel singing 'Don't go changing' to Oscar the Grouch, Steven Tyler singing Trash, REM singing Shiny Happy Monsters.
