New to Q: Goldspot

Comments

Now that Travis are good again (see current single Closer), it's fitting that a band should come along who mine the same radio-friendly, classic-sounding guitar pop as Fran Healy and co.

LA's Goldspot write the kind of instantly likeable, sun-kissed melodies that you can imagine being blasted out of car stereos on sticky summer afternoons. Their debut album, Tally Of The Yes Men, isn't out until 11 June, but here's a brief preview in the form of the song Friday.

Meanwhile, their debut single, It's Getting Old, is the free featured download on iTunes this week. Go and blag it here.

  • His voice is a bit wet, but I like this a lot. Nice and summery. And today is Friday. I see what you've done there.
