Youtube being Youtube, it’s already hosting clips of last night’s reunion show by The Police. The 20, 000 capacity gig in Vancouver was the ‘80s stars first in 23 years and the opening night of their sold out world tour. The band, who stand to make more than $100million from their 21 North American dates alone, didn’t stint on the hints either: Message In A Bottle, Walking On The Moon, Roxanne, Every Breath You Take and Can’t Stand Losing You were all present and correct.
Unfortunately, Stewart Copeland’s headband and ‘drummer gloves’ aren’t quite visible in the clip below.

As fabulous as they were, Police were really only Rush but with peroxide and TOTP in place of slide-rule time signatures and Ayn Rand. Weren't they? (I should get out more.)

I can't really see the comparison to Rush, the Police had a lot more integrity. Rush is overblown drivel and never made anything as good as Yes or Genesis, who they resemble more than Police. As for the Police I saw them on the Grammys and it just didn't happen they shouldn't have tampered with their legacy.
