James Ford is the producer behind Arctic Monkeys' Favourite Worst Nightmare and Klaxons' Myths Of The Near Future. But when he's not twiddling knobs for other bands he's one half of Simian Mobile Disco, the new rave scenesters whose debut album, Attack Decay Sustain Release, sounds disctinctly like old rave - in a good way.
It's full of the kind of whooshing, shape-shifting synths and pneumatic bass lines that no will doubt sound immense on sweaty dance floors at 3am. You can listen to the album's excellent opening track Sleep Deprivation here.
