Don’t get me wrong. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but your December letter of the month got me so irritated it drove me to scratch a few lines on paper.
I am lucky to have heard the mentioned bands the first time round and I’m not one to have been taken in by the so called ‘nostalgic reunions’.
The writer of the letter should ask himself one question. Why ???. the answer is simple.
Whenever there is a drought in artistic creativity in fashion and music we always look back for inspiration.
I have a 14 year old daughter. All her contemporarys are into the likes of: Hendrix, Purple, Zeplin, Sabbath, Eagles, M Gaye, B Marley, E.W.n Fire, S Wonder, Beatles, Stones etc.
Are these young kids blinded by ‘nostalgia? Do they even understand what nostalgia is?
I suggest that these bands are as new to them as they were to my generation.
Mr letter of the month and Q, I also suggest that if you scratch just a little under the surface you will realise that you are both talking from where you should be passing waste!!!
