The New Pornographers – All The Old Showstoppers

The New Pornographers are a ridiculously catchy six piece indie rock crew from Vancouver, Canada, led by singer and occasional solo artist A C Newman. Never knowingly without rich harmonies or a chorus that won’t leave your head for weeks, they’ve out done themselves with their fourth album, Challengers, due for release in August. The excellent Old Showstoppers is a perfect taster, sparkly, string driven pop that sits somewhere between ‘70s staples ELO and tune-led noughties American indie rock, such as The Shins.
