Primal Scream are about to release their inaugural DVD, which captures the band live in London on last year's Riot City Blues Tour. A perfect opportunity to sing the praises of Gary 'Mani' Mounfield, bass general, chief rabble rouser and a man for whom having it large still holds true as he approaches the grand old age of 45. Long gone are his days of positing such chin-stroking conundrums as "What's psychedelic?" to be replaced with the far more palatable likes of "We've come to rip the roof off the fucking place!" A true rock'n'roll star. Mani, we salute you.
