Family Tree, the fanatics-only Nick Drake out-takes and rarities collection - which features more shrill warbling from Drake’s mum Molly than anyone really needs to hear – is out Monday (9 July).
It’s a bit like Nirvana’s With The Lights Out box set, in that it offers an intriguing insight into a great man’s creative development, without being the sort of thing you’d ever actually want to sit down and listen to.
Still, one of the album’s more intriguing moments is a rough, piano and vocal-only demo of Way To Blue. It’s a stark, intimate affair, made all the more so by director Gavin Bush’s accompanying film, which marries the music to private footage of Drake growing up in England and Burma. And here it is.

A great video in the vein of "Hurt". Likes of Blunt would never dare to release albums had Nick been alive.
