Radiohead tribute album

Comments

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Radiohead’s OK Computer, top music blog Stereogum has put together a new version of the classic album, featuring radically reworked versions by up-and-coming indie artists.

You can listen to the whole thing here. It’s not all great – no-one really needs to hear Cold War Kids bellowing their way charmlessly through Electioneering.

But there are moments of genuine beauty, too. Exit Music (For A Film) and No Surprises are both sensitively handled, teasing out new subtleties in the over-familiar originals.

My Brightest Diamond, aka arty Brooklyn folktronica artist Shara Worden, is a former opera student, and it shows in the startling vocal control she brings to bear on one of Radiohead’s most moving songs.
