Sometimes a band return with a single so confident, so instantly melodic, so spot on that the step up to mainstream ubiquity seems guaranteed.
Razorlight managed it last year with In The Morning. 2007’s big sophomore smash will be Hard Fi’s Once Upon A Time In The West (out 3 September) preceded by the instantly memorable lead single Suburban Knights.
Propelled by enough radio-friendly “Ooh ooh oohs” to give Kaiser Chiefs a run for their money – yet still delivered with a vague sense of street-tough punk menace – it’s destined to spark many a beer-sloshing sprint for the moshpit whenever it’s played live, and - in its wake - Once Upon A Time In The West should see the Staines band transcend even the 900,000-selling success of debut album Stars Of CCTV.
