With his manfully husky vocals and chiselled, The OC-style looks, 19-year old Justin Nozuka may prove a bit too smooth for some tastes – the Maroon 5 of the singer-songwriter set, if you will.
But if the phrase “the next James Morrisson” doesn’t send you running for the hills, there’s much to recommend about the half-Japanese/half-American, Toronto-based troubadour. Mainly it’s the honeyed agility of his vocal delivery - but Nozuka is a pretty gifted tunesmith too, as evidenced by the easy, graceful hooks of Golden Train , the latest single to be taken from debut album Holly.
