Beardy, Baltimore-based electro boffin Dan Deacon has been making provocatively weird, psychedelic head music since 2003, but it’s only with current album Spiderman Of The Rings that he’s started to build a buzz amongst clued-up bloggers.
Crystal Cat, based around a dense, motorik groove, is typical of his headache-inducing approach, the effect compounded by a video that looks like an explosion in a computer programming lab. Not to everyone’s tastes, then, but an intriguing dispatch from music’s outer fringes.
