Say what you like about the Mercury Music Prize – if it draws the public’s attention to unjustly overlooked artists such as Fionn Regan, it can only be a good thing. Sales of the Brighton-based, Dublin-raised troubadour’s debut album The End Of History leapt 100% in the wake of his Mercury nomination.
To capitalise on the buzz, Regan is re-releasing former single Be Good Or Be Gone. It’s not the best song on the album – that honour goes to the skeletal, haunting Snowy Atlas Mountains – but it does have an ingenious accompanying video, which has racked up over 150,000 plays in Youtube.
You can download it free as a video podcast here, although you’ll have to wade through the usual “data capture” bumph. Alternatively, you could just watch it right here.
