Bruce Springsteen and Arcade Fire join forces

Comments

Bruce Springsteen fans in Ottawa, Canada got an unexpected treat last night (15 October) when local(ish) heroes Arcade Fire joined the E Street Band onstage to play two songs.

The first track they played together, with Springsteen and Win Butler sharing vocals, was State Trooper, from 1982’s Nebraska album. This in itself was something of an event for Boss nuts, since the E Street Band hadn’t played the song live for over 20 years.

The unlikely supergroup followed that up with a Bruce-ified charge through Keep The Car Running, from Arcade Fire’s recent Neon Bible album.

Naturally, the obligatory shaky-cam footage has already found its way onto Youtube. We love the fact you can hear the Canuck camera-man freaking out as he slowly realises who’s just joined Springsteen onstage: “Oh! My! Gaaahd!”
