In a recent interview with US magazine Spin, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke singled out Bjork’s Unravel (Homogenic, 1997) as his favourite track of all time, describing it as “one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.”
He said back then that he’d been trying to persuade Radiohead to cover the song, and he evidently succeeded because their version formed part of the Radiohead.tv webcast that aired last night (8 November).
Replacing the icy keyboard washes of the original with stately piano, Radiohead’s understated cover is being hosted on MP3 blog Gorilla Vs Bear. You can watch the full 17-minute webcast here.
