Domestic terror lurks at the heart of current PJ Harvey single with it's ominous opening line ("hit her with a hammer/teeth smashed in") and talk of lurking fathers and escaping mothers. The sense of dread is only heightened by the accompanying video, made up of writhing bodies snipped from porn mags, their eyes and naughty bits obscured by black strips. The clip was created by Maria Mochnacz who's worked with Harvey since 1992, when they had fun with swings for the Dress video.
If that's not disturbing enough, try this frightening, bluesy live version recorded for French TV, the horror kicking in around the line, "Daddy's in the corner, rattling his keys".
