Who will make it big in 2008? Big-voiced soul songstress Duffy? Mouthy lad-rockers The Courteeners? Black-clad Spector obsessives Glasvegas?
Here at Q we’ve selected ten key acts who we predict will be blazing a trail across the New Year – but we want your input.
Browse our gallery here, listen to the audio clips – and vote for your favourite at the end. We look forward to seeing the result.
You can read interviews with each of the 10 bands in the next issue of Q, on sale from 1 January.

To those of you who asked why Foals didn't make the cut: we decided to give them a feature of their own instead, in next month's issue (onsale 1 Feb).
As for Adele, we did a feature on her in last month's issue, and didn't want to repeat ourselves.
Hope that clears things up. Thanks for the other tips. Olivetide might be the suckiest band name I'm ever heard.

I've listened to all the bands - The only ones IMO who have good tunes are Duffy, The Troubadours and Glasvegas (love the name!) ... Sorry everyone else :p x

Vote The Troubadours
(Show that you know about music).
The Troubadours ARE the best new act of 2008.

I checked out the Foals earlier. I just cant get into them at all....Dont think they deserve to go in this list of best breaking bands for 08.

I think todays standard of music has seriously gone down hill. I think Q got a few right on here. However the majority are seriously average.
I'm with the girl or guy who made that post earlier. The ONLY innovative sounds and songs i've heard on this list are Glasvegas and The Troubadours. Great melodies (a rareity these days). I think Duffy's voice is beautiful.
Does Q have forums to discuss music etc? if not, why not?

The Courteeners are going to be massive this year. It's The Smiths meets Oasis. Simple as that. I guess the fact that they aren't 'experimental' is the thing annoying most of the people who are complaining about them.

Friendly Fires should be in the top 10 they're ace. Glasvegas are the best band there, Cajun Dance Party have one good song, otherwise they're just Kooks. Courteeners sound alright but aren't anything special. The Troubadours sound good but may as well listen to the Coral.
Everyone play curling.

The Troubadours gigging with The Enemy and Mark Ronson.
See them live - and don't forget to vote.
You can help make them massive.
