3. PJ Harvey - White Chalk (Ghostly Gothic wailings from PJ, who has just learnt to tinkle the ivories. This album is filled with beautiful, haunting tracks - just don't listen to it in the dark!)
4. Rufus Wainwright - Release The Stars (Rufus is back - and flamboyant as ever! Strong tracks like 'Going to a town' and 'Rules and Regulations' tell us Rufus isn't going anywhere)
5. Sigur Rós - Hvarf-Heim (Atmospheric beauty from the mystical and elusive Sigur Rós - Staralfur is a must hear! The film is a wonder, too.)

although it was made in 1987 i discovered guns n roses appetite for destruction last year - AMAZING
nighttrain is a stroke of genius.
i went to see them at the glasgow SECC and although they were an hour and a half late and we missed the last train home it was still fantastic
