A 7-piece from Edinburgh, Broken Records have almost as many members as they do musical directions. By turns chaotic and beautiful, the band create adventurous collages of sound that veer between the mystic romanticism of olden day Eastern Europe and more lo-fi, contemporary influences -– think Beirut spliced with Arcade Fire. Packed with energy and fuzzy, shaking vocals, this is a complex, intricate song that’s up there with the best of the current crop of emerging Scottish talent such as Frightened Rabbit and The Twilight Sad.
