The Cure - The Only One
The first single from The Cure's forthcoming, September-released album (watch out they will soon be coming thick and fast until then, at the rate of one a month). Clearly no great changes in direction for the band's 13th studio album, from the evidence of this; it sounds, well, exactly like The Cure. Shuffling drums, twangy guitars and falsetto whoops. But if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
Next year marks not only the 30th anniversary of their first album Three Imaginary Boys but also the last time Robert Smith brushed his hair.
