The Music - Strength In Numbers

The world hasn’t heard much from The Music recently. Having burst onto the indie scene in 2001 with the delightfully titled You Might As Well Try To Fuck Me EP, the band have been rather quiet since the release of their second album, Welcome To The North, in 2004. According to the band themselves, this hiatus was the result of singer Robert Harvey’s battle with alcohol and depression, but they’ve now bounced back with the title single from their forthcoming third album, Strength In Numbers.
An upbeat, dancey number dominated by Harvey’s trademark high-pitched drawl and Northern accent, Strength In Numbers is full of a bristling energy that bursts forth with a passion and enthusiasm. Its straightforward, adrenaline-charged tunes seem less psychedelic than their previous songs – perhaps a reflection of what the band, personally, have been through over the last few years. In support of the single and album, The Music will be on tour for the next two months, making their return to the live circuit as well as the world of the recording studio.
