Gang Of Four on QPM

Comments

The revived Gang Of Four – a huge influence on dozens of acts including Futureheads and Foals – were on Samanthi's QPM show for a session on Monday, June 22.

The band played a session to tie in with the release of their new single Second Life, shortly after their appearance at the Meltdown festival at London’s South Bank, for which they were joined by legendary bass player Gail Ann Dorsey.

Rising to prominence through the brutal post-punk of their Damaged Goods EP in 1978, and debut album Entertainment!, the band developed into an inspirational funk-rock outfit by the early 80s. The band, led by Andy Gill and Jon King were re-energised in 2005, re-recording a selection of their favourite tracks for the Return The Gift album the following year and now releasing new material 30 years after they first formed.

You can hear the band by listening to the show on our listen again player here.
