Weeks of back to back interviews clearly take their toll. Not content with hooking up with Modest Mouse, guitar-for-hire Johnny Marr finds some more friends – this time joining REM to play a version of the classic Fall On Me during the band's encore in Chicago last week.
Radiohead have played many inspired covers over the years – Ceremony and Cinnamon Girl come to mind. Now you can catch Jonny and Thom running through Portishead’s The Rip backstage. And the track, from Portishead’s Third album, lends itself surprisingly well to the treatment. This is the first of a themed bunch of covers in which the band will perform tracks by bands ending in ...head. Next week it's Machinehead, then Motorhead and Diamondhead. Ah ok, maybe not.

Singer/songwriter Chris Singleton created an entire album inspired by a trip across London. To promote it he played 29 gigs, to represent every location on the Monopoly board. He has even devised a mini travel guide showing the locations which fed into the creation of the songs. Now he is giving the album away. Get it here.
