Radiohead catalogue on iTunes

Comments

Radiohead, one of the highest profile bands to hold back from placing its catalogue on iTunes, have finally seen their material appear on the leading download site.

The band’s albums from Pablo Honey to Hail To The Thief – as well as a number of EPs – have now been added, as well as the band’s most recent release In Rainbows.

Radiohead were recently pioneers in terms of online access to their music when they famously made In Rainbows available for as much – or as little – as fans wanted to pay.

The band’s six EMI albums – they have now moved to XL Recordings - have now appeared on iTunes after the company made then available to Apple’s iTunes Store.

Apple previously had to remove Radiohead’s My Iron Lung EP because the band were unhappy that the tracks could be bought individually rather than part of a whole album. However by the time In Rainbows was given a commercial release, the band had seemingly relented.

The Beatles – another EMI band – are still unavailable on iTunes although there have been ongoing suggestions that the situation will change in the coming months. Solo material by the band’s members has been made available to the Apple site.
