Thank Q for the memory

Comments

It’s not every day you get a private gig from the UK’s finests exponents of Dunn & Co-clad geek-rock chic. But for one lucky Q reader and her circle of close pals (actually with four of them in total perhaps it was a square or some other quadrilateral).

Of course, that’s not all Corinna Colmer won when she triumphed in our Glastonbury VIP competition. With a chauffer ride to Bristol Airport and a helicopter ride to the site, their own private on-site gazebo (highly useful during the early rains at this year’s event), a stay in their own swanky ‘myhab’ accommodation, a seemingly endless supply of booze, backstage hospitality access and some free gear from Urban Outfitters, it was a pretty luxurious experience.

Corinna, 22, from Bournemouth, (and her friends Andy, Jenny and Peter) also had the joy of a specially convened show backstage in which Henry and Thomas Dartnall from the Young Knives performed an acoustic show right outside their home for the weekend.

“It’s just been completely mental. I’ve been coming to the festival since I was two, so this is a whole new experience. Flying on to the site by helicopter was a very surreal moment and seeing the whole of Glastonbury from the sky was amazing.”

But after that taste of luxury, future festivals will never seem the same. “How am I expected to come back as a normal punter after this?’ said Corinna.
