The All New Adventures Of Us - 45 Forever
Although newly-signed by One Little Indian records, The All New Adventures Of Us have been toiling away for the past seven years. Based in Northampton, the seven-piece band have released a string of singles and EPs over the years before attracting the ear of a label whose wildly varied roster includes anything from Bjork to Polly Paulusma and Benjamin Zephaniah.
They probably wouldn’t like the comparison (although they might like the sales) but they have an ear for a fine piano-enhanced melody akin to that of Coldplay or Snow Patrol, gently soothing the ears with their poetry. Vocally, on 45 Forever, there are nods to the delivery of David Gedge with his half spoken lyrics, but that is rarely a bad thing.
A year in the making, the band have finished work on their debut album Best Loved Goodnight Tales which is out on October 8, the result of sessions in Umea, their adopted recording home in northern Sweden where the snow covered landscapes reflect the flickering glow of the northern lights. 45 Forever is out this week and is the 'five day favourite' on Q Radio's live QPM show all this week. You can also hear the band in session on Wednesday August 6 from 6pm. You can listen to Q Radio here - and if you missed the show, you can catch the programme again on our listen again player here.

Awesome band. So refreshing to hear a British band doing something a little different.

Cracking live band! Create a big, rich sound on lots of their numbers but still can pick out deep and- sometimes waacky sideways thinhing- lyrics.
Got the album- no let down!
