Sigur Rós - Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur
Formed in 1994, this ethereal Icelandic troupe have never hit a wrong (falsetto) note. With Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur (meaning With Me A Lunatic Sings), their ninth single taken from recent album Með Suð I Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust (With A Buzz In Our Ears We Play Endlessly), a flair for celestial melody and heady, cyclical dynamic are very much at the fore, in the style of The Flaming Lips and Arcade Fire.
In June, Með Suð I Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust crashed into the UK Top 5, and went Top 10 in Belgium, Denmark, Japan, Hong Kong, Ireland, Norway, Portugal and Switzerland with other high chart entries including Italy, Germany, Holland, South Korea and the US, where the album debuted at No 15 on the Billboard chart. This could be Sigor Ros' perfect moment for world domination...
