Sportsday Megaphone - I Think It's Love
Where have all the American accents gone? Time was any aspiring young UK act hoping to make it in the music biz had to adopt some cod US phrasing to be taken seriously. On the back of Lily, Kate and Jamie T, now you can’t move for acts who sing it like they say it.
Among them is Hugh Frost who toils away under the inspired alias of Sportsday Megaphone, a name he dreamed up while studying at university in Brighton as part of an art project., creating sleeve art for imaginary bands.
I Think It’s Love, which is taken from his forthcoming debut album So Many Colours / So Little Time, showcases his understated approach with soul-baring, confessional lyrics over a barrage of bedroom-based Casio disco experiments, like the Pet Shop boys on a shoestring budget.
I Think It’s Love is released by Sunday Best on September 22, with the album out on September 8.
