Noel attacked during Oasis gig

Comments

Oasis were forced to halt a show for 15 minutes in Canada after Noel was attacked by a stage invader. Noel and the band were playing at the Virgin Festival in Toronto at the weekend when a man ran across the stage and pushed him to the floor during a performance of Morning Glory.

Security staff ran on stage to pull the man, who was later arrested, away while the rest band walked off-stage. The gig was temporarily halted as the band regained their composure before returning to play at the event which attracted around 25,000 fans..

The incident was captured on film and posted to YouTube. Singer Liam appears to use his own methods to discourage the fan from making any other attacks.

The incident was reminiscent of the notorious show at Newcastle Riverside in 1994 at which a member of the crowd clambered on to the stage and punched Noel in the face as they opened a UK tour. The gig had to be abandoned and there were scuffles after the band refused to continue the performance.
