Sea Wolf – Winter Windows

Sea Wolf – named after the 1904 novel by White Fang author Jack London, rather than the submarine or whale - is the pseudonym of LA-based songwriter Alex Brown Church who creates a world of contemplative guitar pop. With a fuller sound than his countrified cousins, Church adds an orchestrated edge to make his compositions shine, his occasionally Ian McCulloch-like voice delivering spine-tingling narratives.

The musician’s demos were worked up by producer Phil Ek to land him a record deal, then given an extra tickle by Jacquire King whose latest mixing credits include Kings of Leon's Only By The Night.

With its accordion riff and cello, Winter Windows marries the feel of a sea shanty, a Paris café song and the modern tango of Gotan Project. “’I thought I loved you and our love would be forever, how I could I hit the only one who ever loved me’ said the man to his shadow” Church asks coldly. “This is the world we live in.” he concludes.

Winter Windows is out on October 27 and is taken from the debut album Leaves In The River.
