Music legend Bob Dylan has revealed his ultimate inspiration - the poet Robert Burns. To mark the 100th chapter in its My Inspiration campaign, music retailer HMV approached the songwriter to name the lyric which inspired him above all others.
Dylan chose the Burns poem Red Red Rose, and the following lines:
"O my luve is like a red, red rose that's newly sprung in June;
O my luve's like the melodie that's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonny lass, so deep in luve am I;
And I will luve there still, my dear, till a' the seas gang dry."
You can see the lyrics and artists which each of the acts chosen to feature in the campaign identified as their personal favourite - as well as some great black and white photographs - in our gallery of all 100 images. Just click here to view them all.
