‘Johnny dresses like an old woman’ – Razorlight

Comments

He has often been mocked almost as much for his bizarre clothing choices as his single-minded self-belief. But now even his fellow band members have mocked Johnny Borrell’s singular sartorial style.

In an interview for the new edition of Q, Razorlight guitarist Bjorn Agren ridicules the singer’s ensemble for the cover of new album Slipway Fires as that of an ‘old woman’.
And Agren points out that that Borrell’s dress sense is a ‘reason to dislike’ Razorlight.

On the cover of Slipway Fires, which is released on November 3, Borrell is seen posing in a white shirt tugged wide open to display a double-looped pearl necklace.

Agren says: “Wait until you see the cover of the album, you’ll totally understand. I am perplexed. It’s not even effeminate. It’s like, ‘old woman’. I don’t see how anyone can think that’s a good idea. I can’t wait to see the reaction.”
