Metallica line up first UK tour for 12 years

Metallica are set to play their first full tour of the UK since late 1996 with a series of dates “in the round”.

The band will play seven shows at UK arena venues through February and March of next year with tickets due to go on sale on Friday.

Metallica – who recently released 12th album Death Magnetic, which went to number 1 in the UK and 31 other countries – played a one-off fundraising show for fans at the O2 Arena in the round and are to continue the format on this tour, for which they will be joined by support acts Machine Head and Sword.

:: Glasgow SECC - March 26 www.secc.co.uk

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, October 24, and are priced at £45 in London and £40 in all other areas.
