It’s a far cry from the confines of the Q The Music Club but within just a few months of playing an intimate show for Q, Elbow are to play their largest headline shows to date, culminating with a gig at Wembley Arena.
The performance rounds off the band’s next UK tour which takes place mainly in March 2009. Just six months ago the band played a show to just a handful of people at Q’s monthly gig with a specially curated acoustic selection, but in the intervening period interest in the band has exploded on the back of their Mercury Music Prize win.
Frontman Guy Garvey is also the guest on Q Radio’s Q The Jury programme on Wednesday at 9pm (repeated on Sunday at 4pm). You can hear Q Radio live here)
