It may have been a decade and a half in the making, but the anticipation surrounding the Guns N'Roses was not enough to guarantee a number one for Axl Rose.
Chinese Democracy, the follow-up to 1993's The Spaghetti Incident, was beaten to the top of the album charts by The Killers newly released Day & Age. Axl's long awaited recording - thought to be the most expensive album ever made - had to be content with the number two slot.
Day & Age is The Killers' third number one album.
