Shaky Hands – We Are Young
Think of the word ‘shaky’ – or tap it into Google - and you are more than likely to think of Shakin’ Stevens, the 80s chart-topper who undermined the respect in which he was held by playing a set packed with new songs when he played this summer’s Glasto. Here to liberate the term from thoughts of Green Doors etc are Portland Oregon’s band-most-likely-to Shaky Hands.
With an ever-evolving line-up (co-founder Colin Anderson left shortly after the completion of their second album), the band capture the spirit of early REM with touches of Dinosaur Jr and plenty of other heartfelt US indie rock. Not to be confused with the New Zealand band which recently opted to drop the name Shaky Hands and adopt the new title Cut Off Your Hands.
Latest single We Are Young - out on November 10 - is the ‘five-day favourite’ single of the week on the QPM show on Q radio and can be heard each day from 6pm. You can hear Q radio here.

Rather than "opted to drop the name Shaky Hands" don't you mean "were threatened with legal action and so were forced to drop the name Shaky Hands"?
