I Heart Hiroshima - Punks
Punks is seemingly an exercise in lyrical minimalism. For more than a minute the words barely vary from the line “I keep on trying to start not to stop” but the insistent repetition becomes slightly addictive.
Over a shuffling, almost military, drumbeat Brisbane-based trio I Heart Hiroshima showcase the treble heavy sound which comes of having no bass, whipping through a horizontal guitar lick and some largely unfathomable lyrics. The band formed three years ago at a house party with an EP to follow the next year.
Punks is taken from their debut album Tuff Teef and is the ‘five-day favourite’ single of the week on Q Radio’s QPM show throughout this week. Tune in from 6pm.

It's 'I KEEP on trying...', not 'I KEEN on trying'!
