Morrissey's musical birthday

Comments

Morrissey is to celebrate his 50th birthday onstage with a homecoming gig at the Manchester Apollo. The show is part of a three-date run in May following the release of his next album Years Of Refusal.

The album is being issued by Polydor on February 16, heralded by a single I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris a week earlier.

Tickets for his gigs - for which special guests will be Doll & The Kicks - go on sale tomorrow, Friday, December 5.

The 2009 dates are as follows:
:: May 11- London Royal Albert Hall
:: May 22 - Manchester Apollo
:: May 23 - Manchester Apollo

And here is the artwork for the new album. Hmmm, holding a baby with a glittery stick-on tattoo of a butterfly slapped on its forehead. And with something stuck to his own arm. What could it all mean? Please share your theories ....

  • Morrissey is such a legend and now that it's his 50 Birthday, it's time "The Smiths" should reform...I think an older Smiths look, will be brilliant. But probably that Johnny Marr is too stupid to realise that he was only ever great in The Smiths and he'd be more welcomed if he joined Morrissey!
